PHYSICAL QUANTITIES:–

  • “PHYSICAL QUANTITIES” which can describe the laws of physics and possible to measure .
  • The physical quantities which do not depend upon other physical quantities are called “fundamental quantities”.
  • Mass,Length,Time,Temperature,Luminous Intensity, Electric current and Amount of substances are the fundamental quantities in “STANDARD SYSTEM”.
  • “DERIVED QUANTITIES” are the physical quantities which depends on fundamental quantities.

 SYSTEM OF UNITS:-

  • The unit of a physical quantity is the reference standard used to measure it.
  • CGS: Centimeter/Gram/second
  • FPS: Foot/Pound/second
  • MKS: Meter/Kilogram/second
  • SI system :It is the modified form of MKS system, developed by French people.
